The obligation is not fulfilled when attending Holy Mass on one of the two days only.

25 Dec: 10:30AM-12NOON
Fr de Malleray and Loewenstein wish you a blessed feast of the Nativity of the Lord and assure you of their prayer at the altar. They thank you for your dedication and support to the liturgical and devotional life at St Mary’s Shrine. This is your church, and how comforting to see it well attended, including on week days, rather than shut down as was feared three years ago.
Archbishop McMahon came for dinner at St Mary’s Priory last Monday with Fr John Berg, Superior General of the FSSP. His Grace was very encouraging and is looking forward to ordaining Deacon Seth Phipps at St Mary’s next 9th June.
Reminder: FSSP clergy do not retain Christmas and Easter collections for personal use. All Christmas collections will be used for the day-to-day running of St Mary’s Shrine (which includes the food, lodgings and salary of your priests).
☞ Did you know? St Mary’s Shrine costs £1,444 a week to run and maintain. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Welcome to Fr Andrew Jolly, from Wigan, acting as Subdeacon at Midnight Mass; and to Roger, a seminarian from New Zealand in formation at our seminary in Bavaria, who will be with us until 30th December.
Holy Communion Reminder:
To receive Holy Communion, one must be 1) a Roman Catholic 2) in state of grace (no grave sin unabsolved on one’s conscience) and 3) have fasted for at least one hour.
In the traditional Latin rite used at St Mary’s, Holy Communion is received kneeling (if one can), and in any case on the tongue: thank you very much in advance.
Please use the entire width of the Communion rail, from one wall of the church all the way to the opposite wall, avoiding any gaps. This will make distribution quicker. Thank you.
Watch Holy Mass at St Mary’s daily on www.livemass.org. The Mass of the day can be watched for 24hrs and that of the Sunday for the entire week.
