Congratulations to our young adults and young professionals who ventured into the Cheshire blizzard, across the thick Delamere Forest - and back?
Picture One: Leaving the Shire: not quite sure whether we'll ever see it again (some felt Gandalf couldn't be trusted with a map... They were right.)
Picture Two: Arrival at Weathertop - sorry Old Pale Heights, with its breathtaking view to seven counties (in particular: Minas Tirith, Isengard & Barad-dûr).
Picture Three: a few emaciated survivors from the Fellowship (thank you to the orcs who kindly took the picture).
Picture Four: back across the Dead Marshes... That's when we realised we had left the Ring where we had eaten our picnic.
Picture Five: Not unscathed, but made stronger through so many perils overcome together, the Fellowship made it back before dusk to a place of refuge. There, we discussed the present condition of Middle-earth and how to make us all better hobbits.
If you are 18-35 and not afraid of danger, come and join us for our next adventure at St Mary's Shrine Church in Warrington on Saturday 2nd December 2017, 1pm. After a convivial pizza, we will speak Elf language. Sample: "Purity and Chastity: how relevant and practical in the modern world?" If you have understood one or more words, you qualify to take part in this new challenge.
