Three children baptised in three weeks!
Congratulations to Richard and Alison Cotton on the Baptism of their tenth child, newborn Benjamin, last Sunday at St Mary’s. We assure their family of our prayer. This was our third child baptised at St Mary’s in three weeks, after Emily and Thomas Vincent on 15th October.
We survived the wolves! Well done to our young adults & professionals who took part in a trek across the Delamere Forest yesterday.
Our next meeting will take place at St Mary’s Priory on Sat. 2nd December, 1pm-4pm, with usual pizza lunch followed by talk and discussion on Purity and Chastity: how relevant and practical in the modern world?
November 18: Priestly Ordinations of Nicolas Télisson and Hilaire Vernier by His Grace Wolfgang Haas, Archbishop of Vaduz, in Heimenkirch. Please pray for the ordinands. Altogether, 19 new priests will have been ordained for our Fraternity in 2017.
November 25: Minor Orders conferred in Denton, Nebraska, by His Exc. Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz, Bishop Emeritus of Lincoln.
Make your prayer for vocations even more efficacious via www.fssp.org/en/confraternite.htm. A Mass of Requiem will be offered here tomorrow, on Monday 6 Nov 12:10pm for deceased members of the Confraternity of St Peter, our international prayer network for vocations; and for deceased FSSP members.
7 young men booked for our Vocation Discernment Weekend next weekend. Please pray for them as they listen to God’s calling to the priesthood or religious life.
Booking forms here and in church for Advent Weekend on Matrimony (8-10 December) in Pantasaph.
Cost: £95/person, single room, full board.
You can pay online here.
Regardless of your marital status, come to learn about this beautiful sacrament, so misunderstood in modern society. Even though you may have been married for decades, or may not wish to get married, this retreat could help you deepen your appreciation of matrimony, and give support through your advice and prayer to families, couples in difficulty or simply engaged.
Only 2 members of our community have booked. There are 40 spaces.
We pray that many more will seize this rare opportunity.
In truth, every adult Catholic would greatly benefit from a weekend of recollection every year.
For your information, Pantasaph will be closed down after our retreat.

We are glad that over the past two years we have been able to have the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered every day without exception (apart from Good Fridays), as well as Confessions heard every day without exception. That is 728 days out of 728. We consider this to be the very heart of our priestly ministry, and believe that the certainty offered to the faithful at St Mary’s to have Mass and Confessions absolutely every day without any exception is rare, beneficial, to be treasured and shared.
Family Catechism Day on Thursday 16 November (and 21st December). Bring packed lunch, taken in common in the Priory, followed by activities for children and catechism sessions by Frs de Malleray and Loewenstein. All families welcome.
Holy Communion Reminder:
To receive Holy Communion, one must be 1) a Roman Catholic 2) in state of grace (no grave sin unabsolved on one’s conscience) and 3) have fasted for at least one hour.
In the traditional Latin rite used at St Mary’s, Holy Communion is received kneeling (if one can), and in any case on the tongue: thank you very much in advance.
Please use the entire width of the Communion rail, from one wall of the church all the way to the opposite wall, avoiding any gaps. This will make distribution quicker. Thank you.
