But most people, with training and practice, can be part of a strong choir helping others raise their hearts to God--where the beauty which meets the eyes & ears reinforces the Divine Beauty Who meets the mind & heart, for example here: Lauda Sion.
The choir which sings at St Mary's, which has a growing reputation as one of the finest in the northwest (samples on Soundcloud here), has room for more voices--whether sopranos, altos, tenors or basses. If you would like to contribute to the worship of God in this way, and enjoy the social aspect of being part of a committed team, please contact Michael Wynne, Director of Music at St Mary's after our 11am Mass each Sunday or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Experienced singers are particularly welcome. For those who pass an audition successfully, the choir trains under Michael's direction twice a week, every week of term time, namely each Thursday evening and Sunday morning immediately before the Mass.
Consider how happy people are hearing this: Tantum Ergo. Surely it pleases God mightily too! If you can sing, or think you might be able to learn, please do be in touch.
With a different training schedule, there is also the chance to join St Mary's Choral Society. And whether you can sing or not, all are welcome to come and listen to them on 22 July:
