Our accommodation on this trip has been rather primitive:
the transport somewhat dated:
the bathing facilities rather ordinary:
the bar a little quiet:
and the vineyard without a winter's grape:
In fact the above is the old British colonial Governor's House. How much of all that lasts forever? How much from Burma's first king, Anawratha, lasts forever?
We are conscious that as we benefit so much from local Catholics and missionaries and saints who went before us, the only act that lasts forever is exactly the same as the only act which can fill the present moment: Divine charity, aka love. Worth thinking about while empire building.
