Part of the inspirational and instrumental cause for so much happiness amid so much hardship here is certainly the Sisters of Charity, aka Sisters of Maria Bambina, specifically the love of Christ which animates them.
Please pray for their new vocations, including 7 candidates. Holy Mass this morning, on the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus, was offered in their convent chapel in Kengtung.
Technology is still a "useful" (or distracting) part of our mission. On the long road back to Mandalay (2 days away), with so many tight turns as indicated on this map:
...road signs have a singular eloquence:
Renewed thanks from Fr Mawdsley for indispensable ordination gifts: travel altar cards (Keith & Pauline M), travel altar missal (compiled by Fr Martin Ramm, FSSP and given by Una Voce Scotland), burse which doubles as a missal stand when filled with a cushion (made by Mops M-B), Greek corporal [with relics sewn in to go under the altar cloth] (Fr Bernward van der Linden, FSSP) and a crucifix for visits to the sick / travel (Sr Mary Julian, RSM). God bless you all for your contributions to this mission.
