Our Christmas appeal for Burma / Myanmar has reached just over £1,486 following Sunday second collections. A deep thank you to all who have given, including the person who decided to forgo a particular good for themself this Christmas and gave their money to this appeal instead.
You can still donate, for example here through Paypal. As the two of us who are travelling are paying our own flights, transport, costs etc, then everything donated goes for the orphanages, schools and other projects we will visit. Zero admin fees: micro-charity works! The main purpose of our visit is to offer Holy Mass in various locations. The money we wish to give is secondary though important. The article below, from Dowry Magazine, touches on the thought that Burma's recent and welcome political improvements bring with them fearsome dangers. Who is strong enough to withstand all these dangers? Only Jesus Christ. That is one reason why Holy Mass is so important. Please pray for good fruit from this trip.
As a matter for reflection, the caption in the image below reads: "There are more people living inside this circle than outside of it." That is more than 3.5 billion souls. And perhaps only 3% are Catholic. Is it time for the last to be first? (Burma happens to be close to the centre of the land mass circled.)
