This post will be regularly up-dated throughout Summer Camp St Peter (which runs from 29th July to 3rd August, 2016). A Flickr album will also be up-dated here.
Summer Camp St Peter III closed with parents and families joining us for the Holy Rosary, a buffet lunch and the play--this year written by a mother from Warrington, being an excellent drama on the missionary success, heroism and sanctity of St Isaac Jogues, SJ.
We have been blessed to have Holy Mass at St Joseph's House in Ashurst, and Sung Masses at Our Lady of the Assumption & St Edmund in Lyndhurst and at St Mary's in Gosport, plus a visit to St John's Cathedral in Portsmouth for the Holy Rosary.
The theme for this year's camp is Fatima. 2016 marks one hundred years since the Angel of Portugal appeared to the three little shepherds--Lucia, Bl Francisco & Bl Jacinta.
Pictured below at St John Fisher House in Reading, seminarian Matthew, who is Director for this year's camps, chairs a final planning meeting the day before Summer Camp St Peter begins. He will be assisted by five other seminarians of the FSSP and Fr James Mawdsley of St Mary's Shrine as chaplain.
The FSSP has many years' experience running summer camps in France, Germany, the USA and elsewhere. 2016 is the third year the FSSP has run camps in the UK. We are glad to have youths from our Warrington community taking part in the camp this year.
