While photographs of an ancient liturgy in a magnificent Pugin church are often stunning, it may be fairly said that beautiful music urges us even closer to the mysteries of God than visuals. Music comes from deeper, goes deeper, reaches further.
For a demonstration of this, please listen the pieces linked below, a selection of those sung for Tenebrae on Spy Wednesday by the choir at St Mary's Shrine.
Christus Factus Est--BrucknerCrucifixus--Lotti
O vos omnes--Casals
Tristis est anima mea--de Cristo
To hear the full programme, including Allegri's Miserere, you are cordially invited to come to St Mary's Shrine for the Sacred Triduum in 2017!
