On Palm Sunday, making impressive progress on his pilgrimage, Conor arrived in Sarria, about 100 km from his goal of Santiago.
Since the last update on 15th March he has been over two mountains and through the old Templar city of Ponferrada. He sent a message to say:
"The highlight of the last week was definitely the Crux de Ferro, the highest point of the Camino Frances. Although it was a very simple monument it was a special place and the albergue I stayed in that night was one of my favourites. There was no electricity, no shower and an outside toilet, but the hospitality of Manuel (the hospitalero) was as good as his food!It is starting to get busy now with it getting close to Easter. I think that I could be in Santiago by Thursday but I will stay until Easter Sunday."
