Please pick up a prayer card from our narthex, calling upon Royal St Joseph to use his heavenly tools to fix what is broken in England. Today is his feast day, 1st Class throughout the Universal Church.
St Joseph's works amaze us. In quiet humility: he is the defender of God's right to life (cf Mt 2:13); observer of God's right to be obeyed without question (cf Mt 2:14,21); respecter of God's right to be worshipped according to His Will (cf Lk 2:22,39,41). Thus St Joseph brings peace into the world the only way man can.
Do God's rights need defending? St Joseph's life answers the question. "He who guards his lord shall be glorified" (Prov 27:18). The Omnipotent has made Himself small. How shall we respond? If we do not defend God in the world, then nothing in the world is safe--not the environment, not animals, not humans.
The prayer below petitions St Joseph to look upon the House of Nazareth, broken in England. The Holy House in Walsingham was destroyed by King Henry VIII. To collaborate with St Joseph in its restoration, in the conversion of England, Mary's Dowry, why not join the LMS's Pilgrimage to Walsingham this 25th-28th August? FSSP priests from Reading and Warrington will be making the plgrimage too. It is hard; it is effective.
