- Northern Catholic Conference. Northern Catholic Conference at Liverpool Hope University from Friday June 7th - Sunday 9th. Outstanding speakers Lord David Alton, Sister Catherine Holum, Pascal Uche and Fr Pat Deegan. Day visitors (donation only) most welcome. - A Day for Laity & Clergy. A Day for Laity & Clergy led by Dominican priest Fr Paul Philibert OP, visiting from America on Saturday 15th June 10am-3pm at the Liverpool Archdiocesan Centre for Evangelisation. - Women. The National Board of Catholic Women are holding their Annual General Meeting on Saturday 22nd June from 10.30am–4.30pm in the Gibberd Room at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. There is a programme for the day, which includes Mass celebrated by Bishop Vincent Malone at 12.15 and a talk on “Why Women Matter” by Christine Allen. - Living Theology 2013. Understanding your everyday beliefs. There will be a summer school on Christian faith to be held at Liverpool Hope University, Everton Campus L3 8DR from Monday 22nd Friday 26th July. Costs £80 Booking required. - Warrington Volunteers’ Week. Warrington Volunteers’ Week – Warrington Voluntary Action are holding a week of activities from Mon 3rd Jun to Fri 7th, to help raise awareness of the range of volunteer activity across the town and the support available to those involved. This year’s theme is ‘The Gift of Time’. Please see literature at the back of church for more information.
- Holiday Time. If you are holidaying in England or Wales and don’t know where the nearest church is, you are welcome to contact the parish office before you go we can probably look it up for you.
- Quiz Night. This Wednesday in the Club - a very enjoyable evening, with the chance of winning! 7.30pm for 7.45, pay on the door, £3 includes raffle & bingo. Proceeds to the Painting Fund.
- "A Bit of a Do". Fr Devine celebrates his 40th Anniversary to the Priesthood on Sunday 16th June at 1.00pm at St Benedict’s Social Club. Both parishes are preparing to lay on a special Buffet (hopefully something for all tastes). An opportunity to get to know each other better and to socialise (with a little light entertainment) and is part of ‘Keeping Sunday Special’. Tickets are £2.50 each or £6.00 for a family. Tickets are available after Mass during Coffee time and via the parish office in the week. Please consider purchasing your ticket now for catering purposes. Thank you.
- Circle Dance & Social Evening. Circle Dance & Social Evening Friday 21st June 7.30pm at St Benedict’s Social Club. Organised jointly by both parishes. Music & dance plus an opportunity to socialise. A Fair Trade stall will be available. Tickets available from Irene Casey & Jane at St Mary’s, and Angela Birchall or from the parish office at St Benedict’s. Entry to raffle included in the price; tickets £3.00 or pay on the door. See poster at the back of church. Proceeds to St Mary’s Heating Fund and St Benedict’s Painting Fund.
- Syria Crisis Appeal. Syria Crisis Appeal Christian Aid are having a 6 mile Sponsored Walk on Saturday 29th June in aid of the Syria Crisis Appeal.
